Work Study

Work Study financially supports part-time and full-time Sheridan student employment positions for eligible students.

You must apply for Work Study consideration each semester. You can have one Work Study supported position per semester.

Eligibility requirements

You must be registered in a Sheridan postsecondary program and demonstrate financial need.

You are ineligible for Work Study if you are sponsored by Better Jobs Ontario and/or enrolled in a joint program. You may inquire about Work Study at your collaborative school.

Types of Work Study available

  • You must be a domestic student (Spring/Summer 2026)

    You must be scheduled to enrol in a co-op/internship work term and have academic enrolment in the terms before and after the work term.

    Applying for Work Study for Co-op/Internship employment

    If you are scheduled to be in a work term, you will receive a communication directly to your Sheridan email with instructions on how to apply for Work Study. This email will be sent after Day 10 of the term before your work placement is scheduled to occur (e.g. students scheduled to be on their work term in Fall 2026 will receive an email by the end of May 2026).

  • Open to domestic and international students (Spring/Summer 2026).

    You must be actively enrolled in a study term.

    Students who are enrolled in a co-op/internship work term or between regularly scheduled academic terms are ineligible for Part‑time Work Study.

    Applying for Work Study for Part-time employment

    To obtain Work Study eligibility, you must apply through Sheridan’s Online Award System:

    • Step 1: Log in to myStudentCentre.
    • Step 2: In your dashboard, select the "Financial Aid & Awards" tile.
    • Step 3: In the left-hand sidebar, select "Online Award Application."
    • Step 4: Complete and submit a General Award Application.
    • Step 5: Navigate to the Part-time Work Study Application under Opportunities > Ours and apply.
    • Step 6: Receive your Work Study decision.
    • Step 7: Visit Sheridan Works to get started applying for on-campus jobs. You will need to upload your Work Study Eligible email as a supporting document along with your resume, cover letter, etc. to any position you are applying to.

    Important dates and deadlines

    The General Award Application opens the first Friday of the month before the start of the semester.

    • Spring/Summer 2026: General Award Application opens April 3, 2026

Work Study eligibility is reviewed on a weekly basis.

2025–2026 Work Study application deadlines

The deadline to apply for Work Study is the first Sunday of the second month of the term for which you are seeking employment. Applications will not be considered once the deadline has passed or once Work Study funding is exhausted for the term, whichever comes first.

  • Spring 2026 deadline: June 7, 2026
